Peygamberlik döneminde çok az say?da ki?i kendisine iman etmi?tir. Hazreti Eyyub (a.s.)’?n dedesi ?shak (a.s.)’d?r. Dedesi kendisi için Allah’a çok evlat, çok mal ve çok mülkü olmas? içine dua etmi?tir. Allah’?n bu duay? kabul etmesi ile Hazreti Eyyub çok evlad? olan ve çok mal? olan bir ki?i olmu?tur. Hem tarlas? hem hayvan? hem de hizmetçileri bol olan bir peygamberdi. Sofras?nda mutlaka fakir birini bulundururdu. Dullara, yetimlere ve fakirlere her zaman yard?m ederdi. Allah’?n kendisine vermi? oldu?u bu nimetleri her zaman kendisine misafir olanlar ile payla?m??t?r.Hazreti Eyyub ya?am?n?n ba?lar?nda zengin biri iken ya?am?n?n ortalar?nda fakir biri olmu?tu. Hiçbir zaman serveti Eyyub (a.s.)’? Allah’?n yolundan onu ay?rmam??t?r. ?am civar?nda ya?ayan insanlar için peygamber olarak gönderilmi?tir. Peygamberli?inin gere?ini her zaman yapm?? ve insanlar? Allah’a iman etmeye ve Allah’a ibadet etmeye ça??rm??t?r. Daveti s?ras?nda çok fazla s?k?nt? çekmi?tir. Daha sonras?nda Allah Hazreti Eyyub’u mal?, bedeni ve evlad? üzerinden s?nam??t?r. Bütün s?k?nt?lara ra?men her zaman sab?r eden bir kul olmas? ile Allah Sad suresinde Eyyup (a.s.)’? sab?rl? olarak buldu?unu bildirmi?tir.

Mallar?n? Allah Eyyub (a.s.)’?n elinde baz? nedenler ile ald?. Koyunlar?n?n telef olmas?n?n ard?ndan Eyyub (a.s.)’?n yan?na ?eytan çoban k?l???nda gelmi?tir ve mallar?n?n telef olmu? oldu?unu bildirmi?tir. Fakat Hazreti Eyyub o mallar? kendisine verenin Allah oldu?unu ve geri alan?nda Allah oldu?unu söylemi?, hiç ?ikayet etmeden ?ükretmi?tir. Böylece ?eytan kahrolarak oradan ayr?lm??t?r.

Daha sonra Allah o?lunu deprem vererek göçük alt?nda b?rakm??t?r. Yine ?eytan?n insan k?l???nda haber vermesi üzerine çocuklar?na olan merhametinden dolay? a?layarak Allah’a isyan etmemi? ve teslimiyeti göstermi?tir. ?eytana ise sen iblissin ve beni Rabbim’e kar?? isyan etmem için te?vik ediyorsun diyerek ?eytan? kahretmi?tir. Daha sonra ise bedeninde meydana gelen bir hastal?k zaman geçtikçe kötüle?ip kurtçuk ve kötü kokular olu?turmas? ile yava? yava? etraf?nda kimsesi kalmam??t?r. E?i Rahime Hatun ona her zaman bakm??t?r fakat yedi sene Eyyup (a.s.) s?k?nt?lar içinde kalm?? fakat hiç ?ikayet etmemi? ve ibadetine devam etmi?tir.
